We are looking forward to welcoming you to worship at Dyce Parish Church on Sunday 4th October 2020. We are ready for your return and would like to reassure you that measures are in place to ensure you are safe throughout the service. We fully understand if you do not feel it is the right time for you to return and you are more than welcome to view the services online via Facebook. We do hope the information below will put you at ease:
Due to Covid restrictions we only have capacity for 40 people. The church will look a little different with designated socially distance seating. Don't worry we will have stewards to direct you to your seat.
How do I book my seat?
You will need to book your seat before midday on the proceeding Friday. You can do this via email or telephone as follows;

SOME QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE
What will happen when I arrive at church?
You will be greeted by a steward (they will be wearing a high vis jacket) outside at the front gates, please make sure you stay 2M from the person in front of you. When you arrive inside the church you will be asked your name for track and trace purposes, please do not be offended if we ask your name it may be difficult so see you under a face covering. Please use the sanitiser provided inside the front entrance. The church is operating a one way system, stewards will direct you to your seat. Families will be required to sit in the middle pews.
Can I use the toilet?
If you could please try to use the toilet beforehand at home that would be great, however don't worry the disabled toilet is open for you to use if needed. There is a sign on the door which you will need to turn over to alert the steward that it requires cleaning for the next person to use. The sign on the door will also be cleaned before your use.
Will I be involved in the service?
Unfortunately at this time there will not be an opportunity for you to do a bible reading or prayers for others. Due to social distancing we require you to stay in your seat for the duration of the service to reduce movement in the church. After the service please stay in your seat for a moment, our stewards will indicate when you can leave, this will be done one row at a time. You will vacate the church via the fire exits at the back of the church, please move away to allow people to also vacate. Please sanitise your hands on the way out. You are more than welcome to speak to each other in the church grounds, however please remain 2M apart at all times.
Will there be a collection?
Yes, there will be an open plate on your way out of the church. You can also make a donation online via our Paypal link on the website.
Will we be permitted to sing?
Unfortunately at this time singing is not permitted, this doesn't stop you from enjoying the worship songs throughout the service. Use this as a time for reflection and personal prayer.
Is there anything that would stop me coming to church?
If you are presenting symptoms of Covid-19 or are feeling unwell in any way please stay at home as a precaution. If you have been asked to quarantine or share a household with anyone who falls under those two categories please stay at home. It is of course up to each individual whether they would like to come to church, there are currently no shielding restrictions, however we do ask that you continually check Scottish Government guidance for your safety. If you are extremely vulnerable please get in touch to let us know as we would not expect you to undertake volunteer/Elder duties at this time.
Have the youth groups re-started?
At present children under 12 no longer need to socially distance, however the adult leaders would still be required to do so. Current guidelines state no more than 6 people from 2 households to take part in indoor and outdoor activities. We are continuing Sunday School and Rock Solid via Zoom as we have done since lockdown. If you would like your child to attend please get in touch and our Youth and Family worker Natalie would be happy to speak with you.
"We are excited to welcome you back to Dyce Parish Church and hope you found the information useful. Although there is a lot of information, this is purely for your safety and we will have lots of stewards on hand to ensure you feel at ease. There is also a walk around video for you to view, please enjoy and we hope to see you soon."
God bless and stay safe,
